Submit for Approval
Once your change request has at least one action, you can submit it for approval.
Submitting moves the change from draft to pending_approval and
locks editing until a reviewer acts on it.
Before you start
- The change request must be in
draftorrejectedstatus. - At least one change action must be added. You cannot submit without actions.
- Review your actions before submitting — once in
pending_approval, you cannot edit the change until a reviewer acts.
Steps
-
Open the change request you want to submit.
-
Review the change plan — confirm the target device, all actions, and the intended values are correct.
-
Click Submit for Approval.
-
Confirm the submission when prompted.
What happens next
- The change request status moves to
pending_approval. - The change can no longer be edited until a reviewer approves or rejects it.
- A reviewer will see the change in their pending approvals queue.
- You will be notified when the change is approved or rejected.
If the change is rejected
A rejected change returns to a state where you can edit it. Review the reviewer's feedback, update your actions or description, and resubmit. The full history of submissions and rejections is preserved on the change request.
Note on SNMP write readiness
If the target device's SNMP write access has not yet been verified, the approval screen will show a
warning. The change can still be approved, but be aware that the execution job may fail if the device's
SNMP credentials don't have write permission. The system will record the outcome either way.
